When Driving in Flood
Want your vehicle is safe during the flood? PT Toyota Astra Motor, gives tips on safe driving through the flood, the following tips:
- Make sure that water does not exceed the height of exhaust or air filter. If exceeded, you better avoid the puddle.
- If the water does not exceed the exhaust and air filter, run the vehicle with the engine speed (rpm) high and low gear position 1 or 2. You can use the rpm 2000-3000. Press the gas pedal constantly, do not be swung or lowered because it will cause a wave of water into the exhaust or air filter.
- If the vehicle’s engine suddenly died, check whether the exhaust under water and the air filter wet. When submerged in water, the better the engine should not turn on.
- Bring your vehicle to the garage by way withdrawn, or contact the nearest garage for towed.
Then when the car broke down what to do?
First, make sure that the battery is removed.
Second, make sure that the exhaust and air filter has been closed.
Third, make sure that the vehicle is not shifted due to float.
Lastly, make sure the door is closed tightly, so as to minimize water entering the cabin.
